"Fender Factory" was inspired by an experience I had visiting the Fender Guitar Factory in California. I went with my family when I was 20 and was the only girl in the group. I was really excited to visit since I play a Fender Jaguar and I love the surf rock history of Fender. I told this to the male tour guide and he made fun of me the whole tour and quizzed me on random guitar parts to see if I was a "real" guitarist. I cried after and wrote this song. It's since become an anthem to subvert the machismo of rock music. The music video was inspired by my time volunteering with Girls Rock camps and features a lot of my real guitar students.
